Format

Type: 5 Round Swiss. CFC rated & FIDE rated for Open and U-1800. CFC membership is required.

Type: 5 Round Swiss. CFC rated for U-1400 and U-1000. CFC membership is required.

Type: 5 Round Swiss. CFC rated & CMA rated for U-700. CFC membership is required.

Sections: OPEN, U-1800, U-1400, U-1000 and U-700

Rd 1: Jan 12 – 9:30am; Rd 2: Jan 12 – 2:00pm; Rd 3: Jan 12 – 6:30pm; Rd 4: Jan 13 – 10:00am; Rd 5: Jan 13 – 3:00pm

Play Offs: If needed, will start ASAP after obtaining clear results

Time Controls

1.5 hrs + 30 secs increment – All Sections

Byes

1/2 points for rounds 1 to 4. Zero point for Round 5 Bye (All sections).

The byes MUST be requested in advance, at the latest prior to the end of the previous round.

TOURNAMENT PRIZES – Trophies and Cash Prizes

Open: Trophies + 1 entry boys (if CFC 2100+ by Jan 1, 2019 – then a place in the Open section of 2019 Canadian Junior CC)

Open: Trophies + 1 entry girls (if CFC 2000+ by Jan 1, 2019 – then a place in the Open section of 2019 Canadian Junior CC)

U-1800: Trophies + 1 entry boys (Open Section* of Canadian Junior CC) + 1 entry girls (Open Section* of Canadian Junior CC)

*The player must reach at least 1801 to play in the Open Section

U-1400: Trophies + 1 entry boys (U-1800 Section** of Canadian Junior CC) + 1 entry girls (U-1800 Section** of Canadian Junior CC)

**The player must reach at least 1401 to play in the U-1800 Section

U-1000: Trophies + 1 entry boys (U-1400 Section*** of Canadian Junior CC) + 1 entry girls (U-1400 Section*** of Canadian Junior CC)

***The player must reach at least 1001 to play in the U-1400 Section

U-700: Trophies for top boy and top girl. Medals for top 10

Water provided.
Chess equipments and clocks provided.
